AdventureX
Mark Lovegrove wants everyone to showcase their games
Foreword
Two years ago at Mittens in the UK, the annual gathering of AGS users, some people brought along drawings, screenshots and information on the point and click's they were working on. Then, this year at Mittens in Sweden, several people brought along demos, playable versions, information, screenshots and more. The games showcasing was great and had a real atmosphere about it. That's why I thought it'd be great to hold a proper exposition to prove that point and click adventures aren't dead.
When someone says "point and click adventures are dead", do they mean in a commercial "being sold" sense, or perhaps in the development sense, (that they are no longer being widely developed). AdventureX hopes to prove both these accounts wrong. It will be a chance for amateur, independant AND commercial developers to attend and show off their work - show the world that point and click adventures continue on strong.
More Than Just A Showcase
It should also be noted that AdventureX will also feature exhibits and information on the history of adventure games, from way back when the first point and click was developed through til today.
